"Die Toten Fische" - Restored

Michael Synek's post-war classic from 1989 is based on the novel of the same name by Boris Vian. Originally, it disappeared from theaters soon after its successful premiere in Cannes and the entire negative material was lost. A 35 mm cinema copy has now been used to restore the film, with the support of the Austrian film funding institutions.

Now the fishes are swimming again for cinema audiences in new analog and digital splendor.
